MEET THE TEAM

YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.

Azat Karen Jones FOUNDER / CEO LMHC, EMDR, KAP

As the owner and founder of Pathway to Freedom Counseling, my passion lies in helping individuals who struggle with mental health and addiction issues, particularly those who have experienced trauma. My own personal journey has fueled my commitment to helping others, and I have dedicated my education and career to empowering individuals to discover their authentic selves and purpose. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and EMDR therapist, I believe that the answers to a person's struggles lie within themselves, and I strive to create a safe environment where they can begin to heal from the underlying core issues that lead to destructive behaviors.

I recognize that healing is a journey, and that each person has their own unique path to recovery. Therefore, my approach is always personalized, empathetic, and trauma informed. My ultimate goal is to help individuals transform their lives, heal their mind, body, and soul, and achieve lasting recovery.

I believe that every person has the potential to recover and live a fulfilling life, and I am committed to empowering each person to do so. By walking alongside them on their journey, providing support and evidence-based treatments, and fostering a safe and compassionate environment, I am dedicated to making a meaningful difference.

My greatest strengths as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor are my empathy, compassion, patience, professional knowledge and expertise, and ethical integrity. My empathetic nature allows me to connect deeply with clients and understand their unique experiences, while my compassionate approach creates a supportive and nurturing therapeutic environment. Patience enables me to work alongside clients at their own pace, offering steady guidance and encouragement as they navigate their challenges. My professional knowledge and expertise ensure I use evidence-based practices tailored to each individual's needs, providing the highest quality care. Above all, my ethical integrity establishes a foundation of trust and respect in the therapeutic relationship, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of practice.

My journey of self-discovery led me to inner peace, and I believe my purpose is to share these insights with others. Pathway to Freedom empowers you to find your own inner peace and live your healthiest, happiest life.

Susan Thompson | LCSW, EMDR Therapist, Trauma-Informed Clinical Social Work, PTSD, Anxiety & Childhood Trauma Specialist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a deep commitment to helping individuals heal from the lasting effects of trauma, anxiety, and early adverse experiences. My approach is grounded in compassionate, trauma-informed care that honors the strength, wisdom, and resilience of each person I work with. I believe that healing is not about "fixing" what's broken—it's about reconnecting with the parts of ourselves that have been silenced or hurt by painful experiences.

I specialize in treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, and childhood trauma, with a focus on both immediate symptom relief and deeper, long-term healing. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), two highly effective, evidence-based modalities that help clients process traumatic memories, reduce emotional reactivity, and regain a sense of internal safety and control.

My work is client-centered, meaning your needs, values, and goals guide every step of the therapeutic process. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where you feel safe to explore your story and empowered to make meaningful changes. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all—I tailor each session to meet you where you are and to honor the unique pace and process of your healing.

Whether you're coping with recent trauma, struggling with anxiety, or carrying the weight of unresolved childhood experiences, I provide a safe space to move toward healing and self-discovery. I believe that with the right support, everyone has the capacity to reclaim their sense of wholeness, connection, and hope.

Anthony Lewis | MA, LPC, LMHC, EMDR

My ideal client is someone who is feeling stuck—maybe they're navigating a major life transition, carrying the weight of past trauma, or struggling with depression, anxiety, or self-doubt. They may be a parent trying to show up better for their family, a veteran adjusting to civilian life, or someone simply feeling disconnected and unsure of their path. What they want most is to feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward. They’re not looking for a quick fix—they’re looking for real growth, healing, and sustainable change.

I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Using EMDR, crisis intervention, and a supportive, goal-oriented approach, I help clients feel safe, heard, and empowered to grow. I offer both in-person and Telehealth sessions tailored to your unique needs.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step—but you don’t have to do it alone. I know how hard life can get, and how important it is to have someone who truly listens without judgment. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you feel heard, valued, and capable of change.
